AETHER CURRENTS is built without cookies, analytics or accounts. It is a set of static files with no server-side code of its own.

WHAT THIS SITE STORES

Key	Purpose
ac.consent	Remembers that you've seen and accepted this notice.
ac.mode	Your current performance tier: FULL, BALANCED or LIGHT.
ac.modeSource	Whether that tier was detected automatically or chosen by you.
ac.declutter	Which on-screen items you hid.
ac.bg	Your background choice: VOID or CAM.
ac.osd	Whether the VHS webcam overlay is on or off.
ac.scale	The musical scale you picked.
ac.root	The root key you picked.
ac.midiOut	Name of the last MIDI output you connected to. Written only when you choose a MIDI port.
ac.tutorialDoneFlow	That you finished the FLOW tutorial, so the start screen stops offering it first.
ac.tutorialDoneGrid	The same for the GRID tutorial.
ac.tape	Your last GRID tape: the notes you wrote, the loop and the time it was saved, so you can restore it next time. Written only in GRID mode once the tape has notes.

That's all: twelve keys, nothing else. Clearing your browser storage removes all of them.

WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

• Camera. Your video feed is processed inside your browser by the on-device hand-tracking model. The tool is built not to transmit or store frames.
• Audio. Microphone recordings you make are kept in memory for your session only.
• GRID tape. The notes you write in GRID mode stay in this browser (the ac.tape key above). A .mid export is saved as a download to your device.
• Recordings. Video and audio recordings are rendered in your browser and saved as a download to your device. The tool has no upload for them.

HOSTING

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). Like any host, GitHub processes technical request data, such as your IP address and browser, to deliver the page. I do not receive those logs.

THIRD-PARTY FETCHES

None. The hand-tracking library, its WebAssembly runtime and the model file are served from this site.

DATA FLOW, CAMERA ON

Webcam → hand tracking in your browser → visuals and sound.
Model files: download only, from this site.
The page sends nothing back: no upload, no WebSocket, no beacon.
Checked on 20 October 2026 with an automated five-minute network capture, camera on.
